Perhaps the Most Inspiring Commencement Speech You'll Ever Hear

I just made my first mistake of the day, I logged into LinkedIn.

My reward? I was shown a deluge of unpleasant negative content directed at various College Commencement speakers. Oddly enough, most of the speakers mentioned like Eric Schmidt, former Google CEO, are usually pretty evocative, but even I was cringing a bit listening to him tell a room full of graduates that AI is going to solve for everything.

Now I know what you’re thinking, something like:

“why the hell are YOU of all the college drop-outs I know, being targeted for college commencement content?”

Well, as it so happens, I recently watched an inspiring Commencement speech by someone you might know, and I'd like to share it with you all, right now.

Do yourself a favor and listen to Ben Kirshner who recently gave the Penn State Harrisburg Spring Commencement. I feel that his advice was precent, timely and thoughtful given the state of AI and things facing these graduates, but the best part is that he's NOT just talking business. He's talking about being a good person as well. I would not presume to summarize him (even with AI), so trust me, take the time today and go listen.

And perhaps, if you’re one of those parents who attended another speech that turned out to be a drag, make sure you share this with your College grad. I truly believe that if they really listen to what Ben’s saying here, it will have a positive impact on them going forward.
